Distressed mourners at Landican Centre Chapel contacted Councillor Allan Brame after the inadequate sound system made speeches at a funeral service virtually inaudible.

Allan contacted the Cemeteries Manager to raise concerns in behalf of the family and friends.

"A funeral service is so important, as people take leave of a loved one. It is essential that they can hear the words of the service and the eulogy," Allan said.

He received this response: "We would like to reassure you that we are currently working with a new supplier who is installing upgraded audio and visual equipment across all chapels at Landican, as well as the burial chapel at Frankby. This includes improvements to microphones, speakers, and music playback systems, which will significantly enhance sound quality and reliability during services.,"

We understand that installation work is under way this week.
