Old Hall Site Eastham and social housing

Helen Raymond councillor for Eastham ward and Liberal democrat spokesperson on the regeneration and housing committee says “It has just been announced that Magenta Living, Wirral’s largest provider of social housing, has signed an agreement to buy 50 homes on the new Northstone development at Old Hall Road in Bromborough. 

This site, even after underground tanks and pipes were cleared, lay derelict for years. It is now being developed, and I can see the progress here each time I go past. These homes are expected to be completed by September of this year.

 It is a transformation that will help meet Wirral’s housing needs, protects our green belt and now gives real opportunities for families looking for social housing.” The need for more social housing on Wirral is something that we as local councillors have been arguing for over several years. We are pleased to see these houses but will continue to lobby for more social housing and for guarantees that these new high quality energy efficient homes will stay in the public sector.
