STOP DEVELOPMENT ON CHESTER ROAD FIELDS

17 Jun 2026
Elizabeth Brame

Barratts will be looking to apply for planning permission to build 295 houses on high quality agricultural land in Wirral’s Green Belt later this summer.

Heswall Liberal Democrats are opposed to any development on this precious land.

Please sign our petition to Wirral Council, urging them to refuse any applications for development here.

Elizabeth Brame said, “Wirral adopted a brownfield-only development policy in the Local Plan that was approved only last year. There is no evidence that residents want the Council to depart from that policy.

The fields (bounded by Chester Road, the railway line, Suncroft Drive and Gayton Park) are a vital haven for wildlife. To replace them with nearly 300 houses would put extra pressure on busy roads, local schools and medical facilities.”

Let the Council know if you want to stop further erosion of our irreplaceable green spaces.

Stop development on Chester Road, Gayton

The fields off Chester Road are high quality agricultural land in the Green Belt. The proposal to build 295 houses here is unacceptable and we urge Wirral Council to oppose any planning application for this precious site
