West Kirby Swimming Pool Set to Reopen Next Month

Some good news for users of West Kirby leisure centre: the swimming pool is set to reopen next month.

The pool was closed in March 2025 following reports of debris - including small pieces of ceiling tile - falling directly into the pool area. Our team then found several other issues which resulted in draining the pool and erecting a large amount of scaffolding to complete a full safety check.

A brand new ceiling has been installed, and the ventilation system has been cleaned. Final preparation for reopening includes a deep clean of the pool area, repairs to lockers and pool equipment as well as refilling the pool (which takes quite a while!)

An exact reopening date will be announced soon. In the meantime, Invigor8 members can still access other pools as part of their membership, with a full timetable on the Active Wirral website.
